Mark Cuban Wins $590 Million Powerball Lottery

May 19, 2013

mark-cuban-what-entrepreneurs-need-to-know-before-starting-a-businessBillionaire Mark Cuban bought this weekend's winning Powerball lottery ticket, and will be awarded $590 million.

According to the Tampa Post, the eccentric owner of the Dallas Mavericks purchased the ticket while in Florida scouting for up and coming basketball talent.

"I kinda bought the ticket as a joke," Cuban explains in an exclusive interview. "I was like, 'Wow, wouldn't it be cool if a billionaire won the lottery.' But then it actually happened! This is awesome!"

Cuban says he will be donating some of his winnings to charity, but will mostly be seeking to upgrade his fleet of private jets and purchase several new mansions around the world.

"There are really just so many houses I don't yet own, and so many loose women I haven't yet banged," he wistfully explains. "This is really gonna help me achieve my goal of becoming the ultimate player."

Turtle's Tequila

Cuban made his fortune by selling the now defunct Broadcast.com to Yahoo in 2000 for $5.7 billion. Critics have called Cuban the "luckiest entrepreneur in world history" since his firm had no business model and the 1990s tech bubble crashed only months after the deal closed.

But for Cuban, effectively winning the lottery twice can't be a coincidence.

"I gotta be doing something right," he says. "Clearly someone's looking out for me. Maybe it's God, maybe it's Buddha. I don't know. But whoever he is I love him, and he loves me."

In addition to upgrading his personal life of luxury, Cuban will also use the new funds to launch a few business ventures.

"My friend Turtle and I have been thinking about starting a tequila company for awhile now," he explains. "This would be great start-up cash.

"What do you think of Cola-flavored Tequila? You think that would sell?"

Cola flavored Tequila would suck…. But, not near as much as you do Mark…. Not being a hater…. I have met you on several occasions and we have all seen you. He is acts like a spoiled child when he does not get his way. “Luck shines down on idiots and fools.” Evidently, as the quote states. Now, “giant egotistical, man-child “DOUCHES” can be added to that quote…. Do the planet a favor and become a fulltime “recluse” in one of “your many houses around the world, or the “one’s you have not purchased yet…” You give entrepreneurship a bad name and reputation and more so humanity….

you already rich be nice and donate to charity. and instead of improving your mansions- why not help the homeless???? really?? does your mansions really need it when there are so many homeless out there? why not help them? or families in great need. That show you the priority and selfish people become-its about them and not those in need. sickens me if this is true about him winning this money.

  • John7532

    this is fake lmao.

  • Mike

Critics are always the same!! Why do you expect the rich/wealthy to donate money to the homeless or charity?? If it’s bugging you, why don’t you do it yourself and then you can shut your #A-hole!!

  • KiaSoto

    This is fake

  • fran

I don’t believe that for a minute…I live here in Fla. and the reports say the winner has NOT come forward as of yet

  • Laurie

When I read the paragraph about this guy saying that there are too many loose women he has yet to bang, I thought this was a joke. I’m shocked that any mature person would publicly make this comment in all seriousness.

  • Laurie

    How do you know?

  • angel

Wow maybe you should use some of that money to help the starving children or people all over the united states or help by creating programs that help these people without jobs to get them so they can help themselves and there familiar
