Prominent Attorney and Wife Murdered by Colleague in Las Vegas Law Firm Tragedy

A tragic incident unfolded in Las Vegas on Monday morning when a man opened fire inside a law firm near the Red Rock resort, resulting in the deaths of a man and a woman.

The shooter then took his own life. FOX5 reported that the victims were identified by sources as Dennis Prince and his wife, Ashley Prince.

The shooter was identified as Las Vegas attorney Joe Houston, who allegedly attacked Dennis and Ashley before turning the gun on himself.

A family member of Dennis Prince confirmed his death and the events leading up to the tragic incident to FOX5, though the Clark County Coroner’s Office has yet to officially identify the victims.

The shooting occurred during a child custody deposition at the Prince Law Group, as detailed by lawyer Robert Eglet to Fox News Digital.

It was revealed that Houston was representing his son, Dylan Houston, against his former daughter-in-law, Ashley Prince, who was represented by her new husband, Dennis.

The couple had a six-month-old baby together. The deposition was part of an ongoing custody battle between Dylan and Ashley.

In response to the devastating event, Prince Law Group issued a heartfelt statement, expressing deep sorrow and gratitude for the support received, and requested privacy for the families involved.

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department held a press briefing to provide updates on the shooting, which took place on the law firm’s 5th floor.

Sheriff Kevin McMahill commended the rapid response of the first responders and disclosed that while they have a theory about the motive, further details could not yet be released.

McMahill confirmed the shooter’s suicide, clarifying that no police officers were involved in his death.

The incident prompted a temporary soft lockdown of nearby schools, which has since been lifted, according to Fox 5 News.

Authorities assured the community there is no ongoing threat and promised more details as the investigation progresses.
